The Tom Caldwell Gallery, established in 1969 by Tom Caldwell in Belfast, quickly became a prominent venue for contemporary art. In 1974, Caldwell expanded the gallery’s presence by opening a branch in Dublin, making it one of the few art establishments operating on both sides of the Irish border at the time.
